§ 4-17. Registration of dogs.

  • (a)

    Required. Each owner or possessor and any person who harbors or keeps any dog within the limits of the city shall cause such dog to be registered in the office of the clerk of the Chatham County Commissioners and shall secure an annual license tag for such dog.

    (b)

    Dog license fee. The veterinarian's fee for vaccination of a dog or cat shall be set by each individual licensed veterinarian of the State of Georgia. A license tag will be issued in exchange for a four dollar ($4.00) fee, which will be collected by the Animal Control Center of the Chatham County Police Department from the owner of each dog or cat who has received the antirabies vaccine and rabies certificate.
