§ 2-7. Oaths of office.

  • (a)

    Personnel required to take an oath of office. Each of the following officers and employees in the administrative service shall be required to take an oath of office before entering upon the discharge of his duties, which office shall be prescribed by the person taking it and shall be filed and preserved in the office of the city personnel officer:

    (1)

    The department head in each office.

    (2)

    Every member of the police department.

    (b)

    Form of oath. The form of the oath of office shall be as follows:

    "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully discharge the duties devolved upon me as ____________ of the City of Port Went-worth; and that I will faithfully discharge all of the duties assigned to me or imposed upon me by the mayor and council of the City of Port Wentworth, the laws of the State of Georgia, and ordinances of the City of Port Wentworth, to the best of my ability, skill and knowledge during my continuance therein, so help me God."
